Aims:

Analysis of structural system subjected to random inputs

Syllabus:

  • Fundamentals of Probability and Statistics Probability, Random variables and probabilities distributions, Mathematical expectations, Some continuous and some discrete probability distributions. 2. Random vibrations Correlation, Fourier Analysis, Spectral Density, Excitation-Response relations for linear systems, Transmission of random vibration, Statistics of Narrow Band Processes, Random vibrations of continuous systems.

Aims:

Students will be able to model and analyze vibration of mechanical systems using both single and multiple degree of freedom models. They will study vibration of continues system. Student will have studied free and forced response of these systems. They will have study about natural frequencies and mode shapes and will used them for solution of multiple degree of freedom problems. Students will be able to design simple vibration isolation systems.
