Aims:

Different methods of studing and analyzing phenomenon and properties of surface, interface and thin films

Syllabus:

  • Electron spectroscopy for chemical analysis. X- ray interaction whit material. Photoelectron and photoemission effects from solid. Bond energy and chemical transfer. Elastic mean free path and sampling depth. Quantization. Spectral characteristics. Vacuum system for experiments ESCA,UPS, XPS, Auger electron spectroscopy, SIMS, mass spectrometry for surface, RBS, LEID, vibrational spectroscopy of surfaces. Dtermination of surface structure by interference method, STM, AFM. Work function methods
